Laminate flooring is a perfect solution to high traffic households!

Do you want the rich, natural look of a hardwood floor but are concerned about maintenance and wear?  Perhaps you prefer a ceramic or stone tile look but don't like the idea of standing on a  hard, cool surface? A laminate floor may be just what you're looking for.

Laminate flooring is the solution for today's busy lifestyles.  It is extremely durable, long-lasting and comfortable to live on.  Laminate is an incredibly easy floor to maintain and can go just about anywhere in your home.  It is quickly becoming one of the most popular alternatives to hardwood, stone and ceramic flooring in America.  Over the years - many improvements have been made in laminates, making them more realistic and faster to install while creating less mess.  You can install a laminate floor, move the furniture back into the room and live on the new floor in the same day.

At Complete Floorcovering, we carry the full line of  Mannington and QuickStep laminate floors.  They both offer products embossed with three dimensional wood grain, tile textures or beveled edges for an even greater realistic look an feel.  Click on the links to Mannington and QuickStep to view the entire line of laminante flooring we display in our showroom.  It is wonderful to see the variety available and room scenes with different flooring installed.   But keep in mind, you should ALWAYS check out samples to take home just to make sure styles and tones match your decor.

WHAT MAKES A LAMINATE FLOOR SO DURABLE?  Laminate flooring is so durable because of the way it is manufactured.  A laminate floor consists of several layers fused together under extremely high temperature or pressure.
The top surface of a laminate floor (the surface you walk on - or the wear layer) is typically a thin, transparent layer of a melamine/aluminum-oxide composite which is makes the laminate low maintenance, tough and scratch resistant.  Tough enough to hold up to most anything foot traffic, pet traffic or your kids can dish out!
Below the wear layer is an image layer.  The image layer is literally a  photograph of real wood or tile printed on paper. The printed paper is also impregnated with a melamine resin material. Using a photograph of the real product gives laminate flooring two advantages.  The first is the more realistic look of the product.  The second advantage is that there are no dye lots in laminate flooring.  If you are looking to have different rooms installed in stages, you can rest assured that the flooring will all match.
The above layers are pressed together with an underlying HDF (High Density Fiberboard) core board.  The HDF core makes the laminate floor more impact resistant.  Beneath the core is another layer of laminate or melamine which increases the stability of the board in addition to providing another measure of protection.  A moisture sealant applied along the adjoining edges of each board provide effective protection from immanent spills.
